Manuscript and typescript notes compiled by Arthur Leslie Gronheit during 1916-1917, in preparation for a monograph on Peter the Great's journey to England in 1698. Gronheit, who was killed at 23 during the First World War, organized his notes by pasting them into this loose-leaf notebook by topic and by chronological date. The majority of material is written in English, though there are also some transcriptions written Gronheit's hand in Russian. Gronheit's papers collected here also contain some correspondence regarding Peter the Great and his visit.
